Want to upgrade RAM and Video Card in Dell Inspiron 570? Mon Dec 5, 2011 7:45:50 AM#225659Perm Link
I want to upgrade those. I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for. I know I can find certain types of RAM, I think I can manage that much.
As far as the video card goes, they are a lot different nowadays than they used to be. I don't know what type I need. Does it need a power supply, or can my motherboard handle it? Please help!
___________ cpu
for a video card. almost all video cards out there are the same fitting (PCIe x16) unless you buy a high end card then power shouldnt be a problem. most mid and high range card need extra power, in the form of 6 pin power cables (although some GFX cards come with adapters) so open up your case and see what you have. the mid-high cards use 1 or 2. if the card requires 2x 6pin connectors I'm not sure if the computers power supply will be able to deal with it, as the ones that come with the PCs aren't designed with huge upgrades in mind. just try and get one with 1x 6 pin power connector thats in your budget.
